Mobius got its start more than 40 years ago.

Today, we’re proud to serve all CH-UH Elementary and Middle Schools.

Our name comes from the Mobius strip, which is a continuous, single-sided surface with no boundaries. It’s our hope we eliminate boundaries and inspire possibilities for all which drives our mission: We create opportunities for Cleveland Heights-University Heights K-8 students to engage in creative and critical thinking that extends and enriches curriculum.

From our beginnings at Roxboro Elementary School, we’ve grown to serve the entire district. The additional scope means not just serving and inspiring more kids. It means a greater ability to provide equitable educational opportunities throughout our city.

1981

In 1981, led by parent Steve Nelson, the dream of ROXARTS (Formerly REAP – Roxboro Enrichment Arts Program) was realized. ROXARTS was founded in 1982 through the efforts of a group of parents, teachers and Rosemary Mannino Weltman, the Roxboro Elementary Principal from 1981-1987.

ROXARTS raised money annually for arts enrichment at Roxboro Elementary and Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. The parent group funded many Artists-in-Residence programs, assemblies, field trips, and projects involving the Arts. Every year, the organization grew as did the fundraisers.

2016

In 2016, ROXARTS pledged to expand its reach, finalizing a 3-year commitment for equal funding to Monticello Middle School.

2018

In 2018, the ROXARTS board finalized an exciting partnership with The Heights Schools Foundation (HSF) making it possible to fund all of the CH-UH Elementary Schools and Middle Schools. The fund, known as ROXARTS in Tiger Nation, earmarked arts and science enrichment dollars for every child in K-8.

2022

Though we’re proud of our journey, we felt the need to change our name to signal to the entire CH-UH City School District that we’re here to serve all elementary and middle school students.
